Outline of technique

A particle having several parts with different properties is called as an anisotropic particle.

MgTube™ combined with fine particles act as an anisotropic particle, which has different properties on its inner/outer surface. For examples, combination of lipophilic particles onto inner surface makes it possible to synthesis of amphiphilic microtube with hydrophobic inner surface and hydrophilic outer surface.

The amphiphilic microtube is considered to be applied as powder emulsifying agents, solubulization agent, encapsulation agents and so far. Various functional microtubes can be considered being obtained in respond to kinds of combined particles and site (inner/outer surface) to be combined with the particle.

Principles

In the process of synthesizing MgTube™ by sacrificial template method, the particle to be combined is added to obtain double-surface microtubes. Combined site (inner/outer surface) can be controlled by selection of the adding period.
