“Minera Nittetsu Chile Limitada”, a Chilean subsidiary of Nittetsu Mining Co., Ltd., conducts extensive exploration activities in north-central Chile. North-central Chile is known for the high copper potential. A lot of large-scale copper deposits such as porphyry-type, IOCG-type, strata-bound Cu-Ag-type, etc. are located in the area.

Filipina - Astillas project (Fig.1)

“Minera Nittetsu Chile” is conducting Filipina-Astillas exploration project at Atacama region in northern Chile. The exploration target is IOCG-type Cu-Au deposits and in the coastal range of north-central Chile, including Filipina-Astillas project area, it is known that there are a lot of IOCG deposits in association with Jurassic and Cretaceous volcanic rocks.

Filipina-Astillas project is located about 130 km south-southwest of Copiapo and about 30 km northwest of Vallenar. Filipina project and Astillas project are distributed adjacent to each other separately. “Minera Nittetsu Chile” has the option right to acquire a 100% ownership of Filipina project by contributing the exploration expenses, payment of entry fee and option fee, etc. and concluded a MOU for the option right to acquire some part of the interest at Astillas project.
